The First Annual Embyrs Family Camp!

Invite your friends and family to join our Embyrs family at the most summertime activity possible - camping! The whole family is welcome!

Camping:

We will be camping at the Scott Field area of the park. Here are directions and a short list of what you need to bring:

  • Directions:

    • Farragut State Park: 13550 E. Highway 54, Athol, ID 83801. 208.683.2425

      From Hwy-95 at Athol - East on State Road 54 for 4.7 miles. Continue through traffic circle, past the park entrance and south park fee station. Just after you pass the fee station, turn left onto North Road. Turn right on Monaghan Road (about 700 feet). Follow Monaghan approximately 1-mile to the Scott Group Campground entrance on your left.

      Once you enter Farragut State Park just follow the Red & White Balloons!!!

  • Bring your own accommodations - tent, camper, RV, or sleep under the stars! (please note that there are no hookups for RV’s at the campground - so dry camping for those of you on wheels!)

  • Bring food & beverage for you and your family.

  • Appropriate clothing and accessories for all of the amazing activities in which you wish to participate!

Activities:

At the Park - Farragut State Park offers so many things to do you can’t help but find the perfect activities for your family!

  • Scott Campsite has horseshoe pits and a volleyball / badminton net. *(you’ll need to bring the horseshoes, volleyballs, racquets & shuttlecocks!)

  • Hike or bike a trail. The park has over 40 miles of trails for you to explore!

  • Meet “Mack”, the nickname given to the “Rite of Passage” artwork located in the Farragut Memorial Plaza, next to the Museum at the Brig. He represents the 293,381 sailors who trained on these grounds for duty in World War II.

  • Tour the Museum at the Brig houses the world’s largest collection of United States Farragut Naval Training Station (1942-1946) memorabilia. Open 10am - 5pm

  • Watch films on area history and geology in the Museum at the Brig’s Pacific Theater! Open 10am - 5pm

  • DISC GOLF! Farragut has five 18-hole disc golf courses. The Wreckreator, Northstar, A.W.O.L., and Cutthroat courses offer a world class disc golfing experience. The Little Black Bear is perfect for beginners and children! Courses open 8am - 9pm (or sunset, whichever is earlier)

  • It’s summer. What’s better than swimming! Beaver Bay Beach is horseshoe shaped and one of the few placed on the lake where the water warms in the summer! *Please note that pets, glass containers and hard sided boats (canoes, kayaks, etc) are not allowed in this beach area.

  • If you bring your own horses, you can take advantage of over 20 miles of trails available on the north side of the park from the Corral day use and camping area - close to Scott Group Campground!

  • Looking forward to boating? Eagle Boat Launch provides the only major access for boaters on the sound end of Lake Pend Oreille.

  • The park has a naturalist on staff providing trail hikes, Junior Ranger and evening campfire programs. For those who like to go at their own pace, wayside exhibits are placed around the park, with information on area wildlife and park features.

  • Outside of the park but still in Athol is Tree to Tree Adventure Park! Idaho’s premiere aerial adventure course featuring zip lines, nets, Tarzan swings and other fun obstacles for every age and ability. For more information visit their website HERE!

Schedule / Embyrs Specific Events:

You are welcome to enjoy camping in the way you prefer, but there will be a few things scheduled that we would invite you to participate in. Even if you don’t choose to camp overnight, you are welcome to come for the day and spend each day with the group.

Friday, August 21st
4:00pm            Check-in Begins!

Saturday August 22nd
7:45am - Morning God Stuff with Chris (at the Pavilion - 

Hot Beverages provided - bring your own mug!

2:00pm - Baptism 

6:00pm - Family Potluck Dinner!  (at the Pavilion)

7:30pm - Time for S’mores! (at the bonfire). *Embyrs will provide all the fixins for this so just 

                bring yourselves!

Sunday August 23rd
9:30am - Coffee (at the Pavilion)

10:00am - Sunday Family Gathering!  (at the Pavilion)

4:00pm - Check-out time.

Expenses:

Family Camp expenses are broken into two separate parts:

  1. Registration is $15 per person regardless of age. (This is payable to Embyrs and covers the campground expenses).

  2. $5 per vehicle per night. (This is payable to Farragut and will be collected at the park office upon arrival.)

*Please note - registration must be received prior to entering the Scott Area Campground. If you are paying by Cash or Check please give payment to Joneen after registering online. If you wish to pay the registration fee when you arrive at the campground you will need to do so at the Embyrs checkin. See Joneen if you would like to make other payment arrangements.

** A Scholarship Fund exists to help those who would like to attend Family Camp, but for whom the costs are prohibitive. Please consider contributing to this fund - any amount will be a blessing!
